Todays biggest cruise vessel Freedom of the Seas sailed from Hamburg to Oslo. She called Hamburg for a final check and was docked at the Hamburg Shipyard Blohm & Voss. Blohm & Voss is one of the very few yards worldwide being able to take ships of this dimensions into a dry dock.

Freedom of the Seas was built in Finland and finally handed over to the owners on Monday, 24th April 2006 in Hamburg.
She is 339 metres long and her width is 56 metres. Maximum capacity is
4370 passengers and a crew of 1360. Altogether 5730 people!


 

Todays largest container vessel, the Colombo Express, passing Blankenese Front Lighthouse in Germany. The vessel can stow 8750 TEUs (20 Feet Container). Her service speed is 25 knots.
